What's Inspected During A Home Inspection

You should allow at least 2 hours for your inspection. All of our home inspections are comprehensive visual inspections conducted in accordance with New York State's .Standards of Practiceand include: 

  • Structural Elements.

    Visible Condition of walls, ceilings, floors, roof and foundation.
  • Exterior Evaluation.

    Wall covering, landscaping, grading, elevation, drainage, driveways, fences, sidewalks, fascia, trim, doors, windows, lights and exterior receptacles.
  • Roof and Attic.

    Framing, ventilation, type and visual condition of roof coverings, flashing and gutters. 
  • Plumbing.

    Identification of pipe materials used for potable, drain, waste and vent pipes. including condition. Toilets, showers, sinks, faucets and traps. It does not include a sewer inspection. A septic dye test and or a water bacteria test may be performed upon request.
  • Other Systems .

    Water heaters, furnaces, central air conditioning, duct work, chimney, and fireplace. 
  • Electrical.

    Main and sub panels, breakers,  types of wiring, grounding, exhaust fans, receptacles, ceiling fans and light fixtures.
  • Appliances.

    Dishwasher, range and oven, built-in microwaves, garbage disposal and more. 
  • Garage
  • Slab, walls, ceiling, vents, entry, firewall, garage door, openers, lights, receptacles, exterior, windows and roof.
